Mindy is a Certified Labour Doula and a married mother of three children. She began her professional career as a Health Educator, teaching at the High School level until the birth of her first child. At that time, she discovered a passion for childbirth that was well supported by her post secondary studies. These studies included a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Sciences and her Bachelor of Education.

In the Fall of 2005 she completed the CAPPA Labour Doula Training Course and began attending Doula in-service training sessions and La Leche League meetings to extend her knowledge base. And after two years of gaining practical experience by attending births at Met Hospital, Leamington Hospital and at home, she completed her Labour Doula Certification.

 With her Labour Doula Certification in place, Mindy is finally in a position get back into teaching and is excited to be offering Childbirth Education in addition to her Labour Support Services. Helping couples to prepare for the birth of their child is truly a culmination of her birth enthusiasm and her expertise as an educator!

 Her philosophy about childbirth and supporting women and their partners through labour is largely encompassed by CAPPA's Vision Statement.

 She believes that our current medical system relies too heavily on intervention, when birth is actually a normal and natural process. However she also believes that medical interventions have a time and place. And it is critical for women to be educated as to their options so that they feel empowered by the decisions that they make.
